M272 Do It Yourself Maintenance (Service A & B)

I have been working on this project for a while now but never had time to complete it. Here is what I had. Hope it comes in handy.

Maintenance Info

Service A

Interior

Function check
Warning and indicator lamps, illumination and interior lights
Windshield wiper, windshield washer system, headlamp cleaning system
Horn, high beam flasher, hazard warning flashers, turn signals
Front and rear lamps

Wheels, Brakes

Check front brake pad lining thickness
Check tires for damage and condition
Correct tire inflation pressure


Vehicle front/rear

Check wiper blade condition


Engine compartment

Engine oil and filter change
Check catch, safety catch and hinges on engine hood for proper operation

Check the following fluid levels, correct if necessary
Windshield washer system
Brake system
Battery, check and correct fluid level; check battery condition using "Midtronics MCR 717" tester

Trunk

Correct tire inflation pressure in spare tire
Check trunk lighting

Interior

Replace dust filter (if equipped)
Replace combination filter (if equipped)

Function check
Warning and indicator lamps, illumination and interior lights
Windshield wiper, windshield washer system, headlamp cleaning system
Horn, high beam flasher, hazard warning flashers, turn signals
Front and rear lamps
Check seat belts for damage and proper function
Check parking brake (function test)

Wheels, Brakes

Remove and mount wheels (I dont know why maybe so they dont get stuck?)
Check brake bad for lining thickness
Check tires for damage and condition
Measure thread dept, record in mm
Check condition/thickness of brake discs front/rear
Correct tire inflation pressure
Underside of vehicle
Check for chafe marks, line routing, damages components
Check condition of front axle ball joints and rubber boots
Check condition of steering mechanical components and rubber boots

Vehicle front/rear

Check the correct headlamp setting
Check wiper blade condition

Engine Compartment

Engine oil and filter change
Check catch, safety catch and hinges on engine hood for proper operation
Check condition of poly-V-Belt

Check the following fluid levels, correct if necessary

Windshield washer system
Brake system
Power Steering
Battery, check and correct fluid level; check battery condition using "Midtronics MCR 717" tester


Trunk

Correct tire inflation pressure in spare tire
Check trunk lighting

1st - thank you for the online info and some links to those areas.
2nd -- I am trying to understand my m272 2.5l c230 and what the heck is W203 W20x ????
what meaning for me? a lot otalk with W this and that .... How does the c230 m272 fit in?
I just finished replacing the counter balance shaft --- with some finishing touches needed example the start cycle takes 3 three tries before it goes...
I have bled the fueline several times ... no avail ... looking for what is next... etc
