DIY Apple Ipod integration kit for 2005-2007 w203
not compatible with 2001-2004 w203
I purchased part numbers
B-6-7-82-4256
B-6-7-82-4229

As with any DIY instructions, use the instructions at your own risk.

Nice job on that write up. As much installing as we do, we should post more technical stuff. Way to set the pace, Mike.

Not that I know of. The Ipod kit only works for the face lifted W203s.

I had one installed by MBenzNL and I love it. The only thing is it didn't include the tray to hold the iPod while in your glove compartment.

Hi - Mike

Great help for installation of iPod interface also on my W209. I will post the pictures illustrating the differences between iPod interface harness W203 and W209 under the CLK -class (W209) and refer to your instructions for W203.

I mean if Mercedes won't help us, we got to do it ourselves.

Cheers, BioClaus

Does it work for iphone? I don't care about the phones features, but I would love to be able to use it just as a regular music ipod and be able to use the wheel's buttons to switch between tracks!

QUESTION- If i have an EQ but the speakers are NOT connected to it only the sub is... Do i have to buy an ipod kit like the one above or do i just connect my speakers to the EQ??

I heard its really tricky to mess around with the speakers of MBs.. Thats what i was told by an audio shop.

Just installed my Ipod integration kit!! Thank you soooooo much for the write up. It was great...only problem was the plastic tabs for the vents....I got the screws un screwed fine but on the top portion of the vents I had a hard time pulling the plastic tabs far enough down to pull the vent assembly out. And putting the Head unit back in was a bit of a pain cause there wasnt enough space for both harnesses...Other than that I have IPOD capability now!!!

WOW! Great instructions... just bought my kit today for $265.00 + tax. Have a question though. When I first bought the car I had the AUX cable installed. Should I disconnect this before I do the install? Suspect I will since I get to the "INPUT ACTIVE " screen the same way when I want to use my iPOD thru the AUX port or can I have both (if the iPod is not hooked up to the ipod interface and another MP3 player is hooked up to my aux cable input would the mp3 player work thru the AUX cable?). One more thing.. I purchased the adapter for the new Generation iPOD/Iphone 3GS from Crutchfield......Think it's made by Schorche (spelling?).

Thanks again!

Correct you will have to disconnect the AUX cable. The adapter should work so it charges as well. without it you can still control the Iphone it just doesn't charge.

Hi everyone,

I just installed my Ipod kit
but have 1 problem I can switch the songs on my steering wheel but not on the stereo unit itself (aps 50 system)
And would it be possible to use the "phone-buttons" to navigate into the ipod menu?
when i bought the car there was a phone installed.. but i removed the kit...

Sorry for some bad english

Just finished installing the kit in my '07 C230 sport. The instructions were spot-on and extremely helpful!

Thank you very, very much.

One cautionary note: One should look carefully at the photos showing the interface box being mounted, and not just at the photo of the box having the felt & velcro applied. It's easy to put the velcro and felt on the wrong ends of the box - you can probably guess how I know.....

One more note: This kit DOES NOT charge the iPod, at least not my 4th gen iPod nano. Scosche makes a nice charging adapter that fixes that issue - $20 from amazon.com.

Regarding the previous post:
Yes, when this kit is installed in a w203 (at least with Audio 20) it only allow use of the steering wheel buttons to navigate the iPod menus. "Answer phone" button to go up a menu, "hang up" button for to select, "up" and "down" buttons to move between the listed items in that menu level.

Can someone please help me. I have a 2007 C230 manufactured in Oct 2006. I just called for the Mercedes part and they told me I need part 678244257, however in this post, it states I need part 678244256?? What is the difference between the 2? Also the Mercedes rep said I need to go to the dealership so they can use the SDS to have the car recognize the ipod. Is this true? The directions in the OP look pretty simple, is this all I really need to do? Also the kit is $156 through genuinemercedesparts. Thanks in advance!
