I saw this car at a Chevron station on Avalon St./405 frwy in Long Beach this morning around 6am.Pics are from my camera phone and only had time to snap these before he and I both left the place.I got a look at the brakes, all painted flat black and they were good sized rotors.Car had a pano roof and alot of odd holes covered with black duct tape on the body.Grill was flat black as well as the wheels, brake calipers and most of the small trim pieces.Cant remember but I thought I saw dual exhaust tips tucked under, what looked to be a bumper that didnt belong to this exact car.Car also had a deep sound to the exhaust. The front bumper had a nice size air intake on both sides of the lower air dam area. The rear of the trunk had a long German word acrossed the right rear in the place of the C?? badge. Also the front wheels were 18in or soand the rears were 16-17in and different styles.Michigan plates on the car.Not positive but I'd say this might be a C63

Sweet! I didn't realize that the prototypes were on the streets already! Time for me to start keeping an eye out...

I don't see why that car won't be the C63. The non-AMG C classes are already being produced in Germany, and testing is complete on those models. The only thing left is the C63 (or maybe a 4Matic :dunno: )

Yes the driver was in the car and watching me closely as I spotted the car and drove around it twice.

If you take Avalon blvd south from the 405 frwy, there is an MB corporate facility on the North side of Avalon about a 1/2 mile down the road.In the back of the building there are alot of awaiting MB's just sitting there in the back lot. Some what in privacy but you can see most of them from the gate.I also saw 2-3 other cars that were disguissed behind the gate there, but didnt have time to take a better look. :(

Hell yeah! No matter what car you're in, there IS a way to spin 'em good! Whether it's stomping the gas, holding the brake, yanking the wheel or pulling the e-brake. Some cars require all of the above :wall:

Jangy, what's VPC?

They also add a number of accessories prior to send off to the dealerships. It is also where they send the test mules to for distribution. I got to see the CL63 there almost a year ago. It is the last MBUSA stop before it becomes public property. I can get us passes, if anyone wants to roll. The closest one is in OC.

Rumor is 475hp and 465tq.
How is it detuned? Is it just words, like the E55 or would some simple mods open it up? 500hp in that small body may not be too shabby!!

We can make a cool event out of that. If there are enough cars to look at, and they won't be hiding those test mules, I'm down

Speaking of which, I'll be bringing my slimline camera with me. So even if they restrict photography, I'll still bring back some pics :D

They do restrict photography, but not that much. Video cameras are not allowed (unless you know someone really high up). I'll check to see when we can go, what will be there, and how many I can bring. It will have to be a weekday and during regular business hours. I assume it will be like last time, where all of the AMG challenge show cars will be there prior to being sent out to Fontana.
