I was driving the beast earlier and every time it shifts into tthird gear it feels a bit rough...too rough than it should, atleast to me. Weather it be a downshift or an upshift. Any possible problems here? The car has 23K on it and its an 04 so i think it has the maintaince plan on it until next year. I wanna try and see if i can get it replaced if infact it is faulty :hmm:

We need more details on "rough" up or down. if it is so obvious, a tech should be able to reproduce it. Play with it in manual mode, too to be sure of what it is.

Not sure on the 3rd gear deal but my car has a clunk in the rear that I cant figure out.They replaced the shocks but that didnt fix it.It almost sounds as if the battery is lose in the trunk but its not?Kind of sounds like its coming from underneath the passenger side back seat are or maybe towards the trunk more?Only does it from a dead stop and if you smack the throttle lightly but somewhat quickly.So far this is the first noise in any car I havent been able to find! That alone pisses me off more than anything!We had it on the rack at MB and still couldnt find anything?At first I thought it was the battery strap was lose and moving around..nope..then thought it was the rear submember suspension mount coming lose..nope..then maybe the driveshaft carrier mount..and so on.Still lost on it.

I have had the entire trunk compartment apart and back together twice.Ive checked every bolt,nut and bushing under that car from front to back as well as my MB tech.Only thing I can think of is something small is under the rear seat and is rolling around?

Funny thing is it has the exact same souns as when you go over a speed bump somewhat fast and the rear makes that thud sound? A very sharp but deadend sound.

Maybe I'll put Ling in the trunk and do some launches,just for test purposes of course.

WE HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM TOO!!! i also get that thud whenever you press the throttle. I also feel as if something heavey bounces up and down everytime i go over a speed bump

that and the rough shifts in the tranny....i think im gonna drop it off at the stealership on wednesday and tell them to fix everything. COnsidering it has brake squeal as well, ill have them do the brakes while its there since its under the maintainance program

`Rear End Clunk that both Jrocket and I are experienceing

`Rough Tranny

`Broken Cup Holder


Taking the car to Andreas At Brabus to have the following looked at next week:

`Loose crank pully (Benz Tech said so)

`Re-tune the car AKA Re-upload Brabus software due to AMG recall

`Replace chipping Brabus Supercharger Plaque

`Replace silver K8 Supercharger Plaques for Red ones

its not exactley "loose". The tech said it looks a bit wobbly. The Brabus Tech is gonna take a look at it as soon as I get the cr back from the dealership.

in the meantime.....looks like ill have some C230 Abuse Vids for you guys to beat off to :rofl:

Sorry bro, it's something you're gonna have to live with.

I actually was following that thread from the beginning.My car also has that sound but Ive been told its the valving in the air suspension and shocks that give you the sound.The travel of the wheel is so fast and abrupt that the shock/suspension doesnt absorb it fast enough,thus transferring the load and noise through out the cars body of structure.Other cars/manufactures do the same thing.

My problem is the sound Im getting from a dead stop when I smack the throttle with a very fast yet suttle approach.That sound is driving me crazy.

Im dropping the car off tomorrow morining at 9, and hopefully if all goes as planned i will have it back by friday. Garage it till monday morning until i have to take it down to brabus for the overhaul.

Update: Just got a call from my service adivisor that they are replacing the rear shock absorvers due to the rear end clunk. Jrocket, you might wanna go get yours checked out
