Brake rotors?

Jangy,

Whats your plans on those 63 rotors? Do you have just the rotors or the pads as well.I can do the wrenching but dont have the rotors, lets work somethong out here to see if they are going to work or not.I need brakes soon.

I think 63 rotors with 55 pads will work right?Isnt this what your tech tried on your car already?Anybody down there have an old 55 rotor to measure up against the new 63 rotor?

I've got an old E55 front and Rear.

I also have two E63 rotors with matching E55 Porterfield pads.

Yes, a tech at Hoehn did a semi fit test and said they "should" work.

I can't return them after they are scratched up, so the test fit may be it.
So whats your plans from here? Are you going to try and put them on or wait and go with another brake setup? I'm all for test fitting these on if you want to try it.Im very curious to see if they will work, mainly cause I need brakes soon.

Have you measured them width, height, depth and thickness to see how they compare? That alone should tell you if they will work or not.
They are supposed to get put on the next time it is getting fixud up. i was hoping this week? You never know.

I've measured with a cliper and all looks well. I am just a little worried about the part in the OEM ones that has a recess in it. The E63 ones have the bolts in that spot, so i wonder if the calipers will clear? Other than that, they are identical.
I see.Towards the inner circle of the rotor?Do you have any tools so you can try and put one on? Or a shop that you trust to try to mount one.Did the tech say he thought the bolts might hit or not?

If you want.UPS me 1 rotor and pad set and I'll mock them up and pay for shipping both ways.If not Im going to have to buy a set and try it myself, only thing is if it doesnt work I doubt my parts guy will let me return them. Then i would be stuck with new 63 rotors and out the cash for no reason.
That is exactly were I'm at. Me? Tools? I can tear sit up, but i can't ever get thenm back together. Creative offered to do it for free just to see. I will have Zamini do it as soon as the car is running again.
You still cool with Creative? If you cant get it done,my offer still stands.Ling and Jay55 have both met me,they might say im trust worthy....then again
Send the rotors to John with some Persian "Jam" and pictures of toes.

I'm col with Creative for now. I won't be taking my car for work there anymore, but I have no problem with them test fitting my rotors on your car.

Something about toes in general that make me wanna up chuck...

The toe jokes started from a thread where Jangy took some pics and one of his sausages got into the pic.

Damm dude.Really feel for ya on the problems youve had so far over your car.If that crank has to be replaced,it will be ALOT of work to do so.Even for an MB tech thats alot of wrenching.Seals, gaskets, new rings, bearings and more will have to be replaced.oh my head hurts just thinking about it.Sorry man.

When you want too give those rotors a test fit just let me know and I'll help out if possible.
I was doing a fellow enthusiast a damn favor!! At least they aren't all long and skinny. they are nice and thick, with minimal jam. It does get to smelling some, though.
