Just had my car Dyno'd at JBA on Convoy Street. I've had my e63 for about five months now, and she has about 8,000 miles on her
(hey, cars are made to be DRIVEN, right?) :)

Here's the numbers, I'm very happy with the results!

Special thanks to JBA Racing, and specifically Wes.
They were friendly, helpful, and patient!

We made three runs:

Run 1 - He let off just before it hit the rev limiter.
Run 2 - Full run, with charcoal filters in.
Run 3 - Full run, with charcoal filters removed.

Chart of second run only:

All three runs:

It looks like removing the charcoal filters provided little if any gain... Some at the lower rpms and at just before 6000 rpm, but is it really enough to be more than a random anomaly?

I also took some pictures of the charcoal filters being removed. I'll post those separately later.

I took video of each run as well, I'll post them on Youtube when I get a chance.

Next step, an ECU tune!!

Nice numbers Brett. Could temps have affected the outcome of the run without the charcoal filters?

The reason I ask is because everyone's dyno runs 2 weeks ago dropped off drastically on the 2nd pass.

Thanks, I was happy to see the e63 may not be as low in the numbers department as many once feared.

We waited a precise 15 minutes between each run.
The temp. readings were as follows:

Run 1 - 62.9F
Run 2 - 66.1F
Run 3 - 67.2F

I don't know if that's enough to make a difference...

And for you A/F junkies out there:

All three runs were about the same. Each run started at around 14.4 at 2500rpm, gradually dropped to a low of 11.3-11.4 at 6000-6200rpm, and finished the run back up at 11.5-12.0 at 6900rpm or so.

If any of you tech wizards really want more, I can post the full printout...

The EXACT best numbers were:

Run 2 - 428.4HP @ 6698rpm

Run 3 - 401TQ @ 4238rpm

(P.S. - JMan, my name's Brett - you're not the first to call me Greg though, where did that come from?) :)

NICE numbers. Weren't you the one that had lower numbers at the dyno shop?

The A/F sounds interesting. I'm used to them running pig rich at the end, not returning to lean numbers. Yours sounds PRIME. I wonder if the air filters have anything to do with that? At any rate, take it and run. The 63s aren't slow. I love riding in R's

About 6 weeks ago, I was having detonation and, like an idiot, took it to MBSD and let some random tech other than 'The Wizard' mess with the timing.

It came back sluggish- I could actually feel it bog at times under hard acceleration!

I took it to the Dyno shop before bringing it back to MBSD and having the Wizard fix the ECU.

I'll take a little ping over a bog any day of the week! I think it was my fault originally- like some mentioned, I probably just had a bad tank of gas and overreacted. I shouldn't have messed with it in the first place.

I felt a difference after I got it back the second time- and the numbers definitely represent!!
