I had posted this on the other board, but the non-AMG 211 section there is a bit more of a "mature" crowd, who don't experiment with their cars.

I resetted my ecu just for the hell of it, although it didn't make a difference since I drive like hell all the time anyway. After the reset though, the ESP has been freaking out all the time, more than it should. For example, from a 2nd gear 40mph punch, ESP blinks all through 2nd gear until I hit 3rd. Keep in mind that this car can't peel out at 40mph anyway. The stupid triangle just blinks and bogs the engine.

My tires were inflated to 40psi for some reason, and today I got it down to the manufacturer recommended pressures (29 and 35 for over 100mph ;) ). The tires have a better traction now obviously, but ESP is still being a bitch though.

Any ideas?

Ling, I know very well the gas pedal is not an on/off switch. The gas pedal in my car is an ON switch (without off), and I expect it to stay on all the time! I averaged 9.7mpg with that sort of driving today.

Lensolo, how can I synchronize the ESP?

I played with it today and it's being a bit more kicked back, but is still intervening alot though. I did practice sliding the car with the ESP off though, and made sure the governor was working as well.

Nice break-in technique huh? 510 miles as of today :D :drive:

I used to leave it on until I got the hang of the car. Now it's mostly off, and that's why the car is way more responsive now than before. I'm still having trouble with it though. How the fuck does MB expect someone to control a powerslide without spinning the wheels through the turn? I've learned to never let go and modulate the gas, but this crap outright hits the brakes.

Do the airbags still work in dyno mode?

My whole life I've driven without stability control, always disabled the traction control, and have practiced stopping non-ABS cars. Those features are nice to the average Joe, but they really are limiting. If Dyno Mode doens't affect the airbags, it's gonna be my daily routine ;)

Time to start dicking with STAR then. I'm OK with the sliding around as it is, but I've always learned to control a slide without letting go. That's the only thing I'm having a hard time accepting.

For example, (rain/disabled ESP) I came off a big wide right hand sweeper yesterday in 2nd gear, stomped it, got it sideways right away and found myself bogging at 15mph while still at 3/4 throttle.

For those of you haven't figured it out yet, I don't pretend I'm a racecar driver, I prefer being a stuntcar driver :) I'm intrigued by awesome slides.
