Is there a setting where I can get each topic to show the most recent post first? I see one once each page has come up, but i wanted a setting to see all of my threads that way.

where are you looking for these modules? Is it like a store where you buy what you want? Or is this shit shareware? i notice that all the forums use this same look.

Most of the modules for this particular forum are open source (Free). This site is running on phpBB.

The other sites such as SoCalEuro and *ahem* are using vBulletin which is about $165 and $30/year for maintenance.

It might be easier to setup vBulletin but somewhat less customizable.
