Roger just called me to let me know CHP and SDPD has set up a checkpoint on Clairemont Mesa Blvd and Convoy near the Kmart/Sears. If any of you are heading in that area avoid it like the plague and use an alternate route.

Thanks to Roger for the heads up as some of us are heading that way to Fusion tonight! :eek:hnoes:

What are they checking for? Sean hiding in the trunk?
Thanks for the heads up Ling!

I used to work by there and may have driven by that direction on the way home. I'll make sure to avoid that area/intersection today.
Not sure what they where checking, it looked like license and registration and insurance, either way they had some cars on car loader

:hmm: :dunno:
I got the loaner so I am SAFE.
I remember back in 1999 or 2000 I got stopped at an SD checkpoint on Linda Vista with my prelude. They blocked off a parking lot and pulled everyone over and checked everything.

It was a on long street with a center divider. So once you found out it was too late and you couldn't turn around. Got nailed for tinted windows and no front plate. They didnt say anything about my prelude being lowered though...I think I got lucky and the cop missed it.

Almost all of us here I would imagine would get caught with no front plate, tinted windows, and being lowered.
Must be a budget crunch, time to fill the coffers.....

They're that uptight in SD? :wtf:
I don't know how the current one is setup right now. But that day I was pissed when I found out about the check point and I couldnt turn around.

Shoulda gotten creative and hopped the curb :dunno:

I'm sure we all have out fair share of stories when it comes to getting away
The ones at the "races" were the best. Get blocked in and stuck out in the middle of nowhere until 6am in the morning. At the front of the line they had BAR officials ready to bend you over for anything they could get you for. :wall:

Life of a lowered Honda.
Let me get this straight, there are laws against ride height?
In Cali, the frame of the car has to be above the rims. That's great for people with low profile tires.

Lowered Honda FTL

I've jumped on and off curbs in the Buick, and have even gone offroad with it. Battlescars FTMFW!
The common fix-it ticket for ride height is having the center of headlights lower than 22" from the ground. Yes, they do bust out the tape measure. Kind of ridiculous because some cars are borderline illegal as it is.
thats a first i hear of ride height tickets
fuckin morons, how retarded are these fuckin laws :wall:

I bet there are some bone stock cars that would fail that, while on the other hand my Jeep can run 1/4 inch off the ground...legally :hmm:
That sucks how there is a law against lowered cars but what about cars being raised too high. I freaking hate it when raised pick ups are blinding me with its headlights from behind. :wall:
