nice burnout!

how much stress does that put on the tranny tho?
Way too much stress, especially since there was no water laid down. That's a one time deal. I was just so excited to slap on some new Bridgestones I couldn't resist. :D

Why is it so weak initially? Are you having trouble spinning them?
No idea. Whenever you hit the brake and throttle at the same time on the Benz the throttle is always reduced. Water would've helped but this was impromptu.

Is there a way to identify tranny failure caused by burnouts?

There's only stress on the tranny before the tires break loose, and when they regain traction. When you're roasting them at 4k rpm, there is no additional stress though.

Was it on dyno mode?

Not if you clean the wheelwells. That's how Cadillac was identifying abuse to the CTS-V which was killing their weak diffs.

Turn key one click. Hit odometer reset stick 3 times before SRS light goes off. A secret menu should come up on the display.
