TPMS on Aftermarket wheels

Anyone use the stock valve stem TPMS on aftermarket wheels? Is there a universal fitment or do I need to order special ones?

Also, does anyone know where to get the best price on the TPMS stems???

Thanks!

Darryl, it depends. HRE's current method of mounting TPMS sensors lick balls! They always end up falling off since they want you to "strap" them onto the wheel. Some people just end up disabling TPMS.
TPMS works with 99% of aftermarket wheels. You should not have a problem @ all. They just use that instead of the valve stem.
Ed, how come Vadim ended up drilling his wheels to fit the sensors? I thought it was because he didn't want to use the straps. :dunno:
No, Most cars now dont have those weird straps. Its just a sensor. In Vadims case, if you are running a really low profile, the sensor isnt safe in the normal position, because its too close to the tire. So, they, drilled an extra hole for the sensor alone (where it still had room to breath. This way, you have both a valve stem, and also a sensor.
Yo, I had to use the strap around method on my HRE and crushed all 4 of them cuz the bracket clamp broke. James from Creative told me HRE can drill a second hole to fit your TPMS.
Yup yup, its the low profile tires that do it. There just ain't no room left.

What size rims and tires did Vadim get? Just curious since I wanna rematch at Palomar. I figure if mine handles better now and his worse....
depending on the manufacture of yout TPMS (Beru for BMW), i know there's custom valvestems made to fit certain holes... BBS Makes several that work with Beru sensors..

sorry... may not be much help on a MB board :)
How low profile is too low? Did the sensors get crushed in 20's or 19's?

Jangy, do you know how much Steve is selling new sensors for if I crush mine:)
yeah I need some info on this too. I split my rear ones that were on straps pushing 180mph ... I cant go for that.

Any local OC shop where I can go and get this done for cheap?
Just say the word Vic. We can do it for you @ Harbor

Jangy,
Vadim got 19s. The same exact size wheel and width as stock. HRE just forgot to drill the holes for him. So he got the holes drilled in the proper place.

Good example is my Bros Car. Hes running 305/25/20 in the rear and he has the second hole drilled for the sensors. So far so good.

We also sold a set of lowenharts for a CLS recently, same issue, we just drilled new holes, and it works great.
