Anyone else dumb like me and use Turbo tax? I'm getting a financial advisor for this coming year, so I can set myself up for max returns. i just do no planning and that is ignorant.

I'm not sure the program has enough flexibility for your strategy of hard assets. Especially in the TIC/1031 area.

It doesn't. i pulled a rookie this year, but i gotta setup with a good avisor for the coming year so that I can have a real accountant do my taxes aggressively. i didn't set much up this year, so i got rapped.

Does he help do the planning as well? if so, hook me up. Think he'd be interested in my petty cash?

Planning he leaves that to me, as he is not securities licensed but he acts as a consultant when it comes to tax strategies. It's more cost effective to define the strategy and then have him review it from a tax standpoint, since I keep him on retainer for my clients and my corp.

Let me know and we can have lunch, his office is in our area.

Sounds good. i need some serious help. Paying too much to the man and not busting out my potential is my issue. It becomes a double whammy, since I could have had more of my money working for me than I do.

Fully understand in light of recent economic concerns. Lets talk before we meet that way we can maximize our time with him.
He is great when it comes to hard assets and retirement tax planning. He's an expert in corp taxes in case you set up a corp or LLc.

I'm glad I didn't get caught up in the server crash thing. I'm hoping this is my last year to use it. The key for me is to plan ahead NOW for the coming year, rather than wait till the end.
