On April 4th, Mercedes AMG is set to reveal an all-new AMG model at the New York Auto Show. They don't reveal much, but look pretty sweet. In the past Mercedes has revealed AMG models at NY such as the CL 65 (W215) and SL 65 in 2004 and E 63 in 2006. But which one could it be? Perhaps new generation W216 CL 65, CLS 65 or even an E 65?
We currently know the new W204 C-Class which debuted in Geneva a few weeks ago is expected to make its market debut towards the end of this coming summer in the US. Therefore, New York would be the most likely event to make its North American public debut since there are no more major auto shows until LA in November. With that in mind, it is highly probably the mystery AMG will be the new 2009 C 63 AMG model. Other supporting evidence includes this image above taken from the AMG Private Lounge site which shows the side profile although covered with a blanket. The general contours appears to resemble the new the C-Class.

So which model could it be? :hmm:

The high hood, square rear and short decklid make me want to say C63, but I only see one doorhandle on there...so the CL65 is an option as well.

Not a CLK because that's already out.

Can't be a C-Coupe because it has a real decklid and it's too low in back.

I wonder if MB will make a C63 coupe (an actual coupe, not a hatchnack) to compete with the M3. THAT looks like a possibility in my eyes.

SLK, hence the background ?
Hmmm, kinda true. And the wheels remind me of the SLK wheels.

Sure as hell not a CLS. Wrong front profile, wrong trunklid angle.

CLK would be pointless. It's already out and the redesign isn't due just yet either.

I still vote for either CL or W204.

The wheels aren't SLK wheels either...the spokes are further apart.

10 U$ to the CL with new engine. The SLK is smaller than the picture and is not a relevant model for MB in the U.S. For the other side and about the new C class, I think that the C 63 will show up first in Europe.
